AirAsia FAQs

Find quick answers to the most common questions about flying with AirAsia.

Does AirAsia AK allow 7 kg for each free cabin bag?

No, the two items share a 7 kg total. The cabin bag is limited to 56 × 36 × 23 cm including handles, wheels and side pockets; the underseat item to 40 × 30 × 10 cm.

Does an AirAsia AK infant get cabin baggage, and is stroller check-in free?

Infants under two have no cabin allowance. A stroller used by the accompanying child or infant is checked free. A folding stroller taken into the cabin must fit the cabin allowance.

Can I take smart baggage with a nonremovable battery on AirAsia AK?

Nonremovable batteries must not exceed 0.3 g lithium metal or 2.7 Wh lithium-ion; larger nonremovable batteries are forbidden in cabin and hold. Remove removable batteries into cabin baggage; switch off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Do airport purchases count toward AirAsia AK cabin baggage?

Generally yes. Duty-free exemption requires a sealed STEB bag, purchase proof and compliance with the destination’s duty-free allowance. Airport-specific restrictions may differ.

Can one AirAsia AK bag weigh 14 kg after buying Xtra Carry-On?

No. Two bags may total 14 kg, with a maximum 10 kg in one bag and normal size limits. Availability is limited. An existing Xtra Carry-On purchase is not refundable when Fast Pass is subsequently bought.

Does AirAsia AK Fast Pass include a free Hot Seat or Standard Seat?

No. The FAQ explicitly excludes complimentary Standard Seats and Hot Seats. Fast Pass is a priority-service bundle, not a seat-selection purchase.

Does AirAsia AK Fast Pass immigration access remove visa requirements?

No. Passport, visa and entry-permit requirements remain. Fast lanes apply only at selected airports, subject to availability; immigration may refuse service if documents or Fast Pass verification are insufficient.

Will AirAsia AK Fast Pass survive a flight change, and can I refund it after a no-show?

It can carry forward after a change or cancellation to an alternative flight, subject to availability. Choosing not to travel or missing the flight is nonrefundable. It cannot be transferred to another traveler in the booking.

Can my whole family use AirAsia AK Fast Pass if only one person buys it?

No. Only travelers who paid for it receive the benefits. Each companion needs their own purchase. Fly-Thru availability is per sector, not automatically for the whole journey.

Can I buy an extra cabin seat for a large instrument on AirAsia AK?

Yes, subject to a 75 kg limit and aircraft dimensions: A320 75.8 H × 38.2 L × 42 W cm; A321 76.9 H × 38.6 L × 41.1 W cm. At most four large instruments are accepted per flight.
