Starlux Airlines FAQs

Find quick answers to the most common questions about flying with Starlux Airlines.

What age can an infant fly with STARLUX, and must the companion be in the same cabin?

STARLUX accepts infants over seven days old and under two on a fare for infants not occupying a seat. They must be accompanied in the same cabin by a parent, legal guardian or another companion over 16. For sectors operated by another airline, check that operating carrier infant rules.

Can one companion travel with two infants on STARLUX?

Yes, up to two infants may travel with a parent, legal guardian or another companion over 16. One infant must occupy a seat on a child ticket and use a car safety seat during the flight. Both infants cannot travel without their own seats.

Can a child still travel without a seat if turning two on a return or onward STARLUX flight?

No. Passengers aged two or above must occupy their own seat. If an infant turns two on the date of an onward flight, that sector must be booked with a seat and charged at the child fare. Check the birth date against each flight date when booking.

Do seated and lap infants have the same checked-baggage allowance on STARLUX?

No. An infant not occupying a seat receives one checked bag for all fare products. Its weight limit follows the baggage allowance for the accompanying adult class of travel. An infant occupying a seat follows the purchased fare product instead.

Can I carry bottles, nappies and food for a lap infant on STARLUX?

Yes. A lap infant has no standard hand-carry baggage allowance, but necessary items such as nappies, baby bottles and food may be carried up to 5 kg. An infant occupying a seat follows the general carry-on baggage rules.

Can passengers travelling with an infant select STARLUX Standard and Forward Seats free?

The infant travel page provides complimentary selection of Standard and Forward Seats regardless of fare product. Reserve through the website, app or customer service at least three hours before departure. This does not make every seat category free or guarantee that a particular seat remains available.

What are STARLUX bassinet cabin, aircraft and infant-size restrictions?

Bassinets are offered in Economy and Premium Economy, not First or Business. On A321neo and A330neo aircraft they measure 70 × 30 × 13 cm and support 14 kg. On A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft they measure 65 × 28 × 14 cm and support 11 kg. The infant must meet both size and weight requirements. Contact customer service at least three hours before departure with the infant height and weight. Limited availability means allocation is not guaranteed.

Can a child aged five to under twelve travel alone on STARLUX?

A child aged five to under twelve travelling alone must apply for the unaccompanied-minor service and meet that service requirements. Children aged two to under twelve otherwise require a parent, legal guardian or another companion over 16 in the same cabin. Having a ticket alone does not establish eligibility for unaccompanied travel.

How many children can one companion take on STARLUX, including when travelling with an infant?

A parent, legal guardian or another companion over 16 may accompany up to eight children, with no more than three aged two to four. If travelling with an infant, the stated limit is one infant, including a seated infant, plus two children. Check the actual age combination when booking.

How does STARLUX apply child fares if a child turns twelve on an onward sector?

The published rule applies child fares to passengers aged two to under twelve at departure, even if they have reached twelve or older on the onward sector. This differs from the rule requiring a seat when an infant turns two. Check separately for sectors operated by other airlines.
