China United Airlines FAQs

Find quick answers to the most common questions about flying with China United Airlines.

How early must I request China United Airlines unaccompanied-minor service, and can it cover connections?

For ages five to under 12, request at least 48 hours before domestic departure or 96 hours before international/regional departure, and obtain approval before purchase. Only eligible nonstop flights both operated and marketed by China United qualify; stopovers, connections and multi-sector itineraries are excluded.

Is a child accompanied if the adult is on the same China United flight but in a different cabin?

No. A child aged five to under 12 in a different physical cabin must use unaccompanied-minor service. Sharing a flight or booking does not replace same-cabin accompaniment.

Can one adult take two infants on China United Airlines?

No. An adult may accompany at most one infant, or two children including no more than one infant. Infants and under-fives need a legally capable adult throughout in the same cabin; under-18s cannot be their sole accompanying traveller.

How do I book a China United cabin seat for a large musical instrument?

Contact the airline at least 72 hours before departure for approval and ticket it with your passenger booking. One paid seat-baggage item per traveller is permitted; instruments are limited to 40 × 60 × 140 cm and 75 kg, securely enclosed with handles for restraint. No additional free baggage allowance applies.

Are personal wheelchairs free on China United, including powered wheelchairs?

Wheelchairs travel free in addition to the baggage allowance; portable personal wheelchairs may be checked at the counter or gate. Powered wheelchairs and mobility aids require advance approval and compliant batteries; ordinary-wheelchair rules alone are insufficient.

Can I take baby supplies and a stroller in addition to China United cabin baggage?

Yes: journey-essential baby food, nappies and similar supplies are additional. A stroller folded to no more than 55 × 40 × 20 cm may enter the cabin; larger ones must be checked. A cradle or child restraint used with a purchased seat is also listed.

May I use a power bank to charge my phone on China United Airlines?

No. Carry power banks in cabin baggage, keep them switched off throughout the flight, and neither use them to charge devices nor recharge the power banks themselves.

Where do I request a China United refund, and does seven working days mean the money has arrived?

Apply through the original purchase channel. The airline completes processing within seven working days of a valid request, excluding financial-institution processing, so receipt is not guaranteed within that period. Return any printed itinerary receipt; the original payment account is preferred.

Can companions receive a China United refund-fee waiver when illness prevents travel?

With airline-accepted evidence of injury, illness or another health reason preventing the booked journey, apply within ticket validity for a refund-fee waiver. Up to two accompanying travellers may qualify, subject to approval.

Does China United cover meals or accommodation for weather delays, diversions and intermediate-stop delays?

At origin, non-airline causes such as weather receive arrangement assistance at the passenger’s expense; airline-caused disruption receives services under airline rules. Diversions and delays or cancellations at an intermediate stop receive meals or accommodation services under those rules regardless of cause.
