Pets
Airlines do not allow more than two pet containers in the cabin at any time and only one pet carrier per passenger. Pets are required to stay in their carrier at all times and must be soothed by the owner in their carrier. Pet carrier dimensions are not to exceed 24” length x 16” width x 10” height and are considered a carry-on item for allowance purposes.

A ticket must be purchased for infants traveling in their seat. The purchaser must provide their child safety seat, clearly labeled as approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to be installed according to the instructions on its label. A reserved seat is required to carry on a safety seat, or a seat must be available next to you.

Contour ticket counters open two hours before the scheduled departure time. We recommend arriving at the airport 60 minutes before departure. Passengers and baggage are accepted for check in at the Contour ticket counter until 30 minutes before departure. For flights departing Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), passengers and baggage will no longer be accepted for check in past 45 minutes before departure. All passengers must be present at the gate at least 15 minutes before departure or be subject to cancellation of their reservation. Boarding doors close 10 minutes before departure time. Beginning 24 hours and up to 45 minutes before your flight, you can check in from your computer.

An unaccompanied minor is a child between the ages of 5 and 14 who is not accompanied on the same flight or compartment by a passenger at least 15 years old or older or by a parent, regardless of age. Children under five years old will not be allowed to fly without an adult. Unaccompanied minors will only be accepted on Contour non-stop flights and must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult until the child is boarded onto the aircraft.

What are Contour’s checked bag fees?
From May 1, 2026, the first bag is USD 45 on Super Saver/Standard and free on Flexible. The second is USD 55 and each later bag USD 200.
What cabin baggage can I bring free on Contour?
One carry-on and one personal item are free. The carry-on must not exceed 56 × 36 × 23 cm.
What overweight fees does Contour charge for bags weighing 51–99 lb?
From May 1, 2026: USD 100 for 51–70 lb and USD 200 for 71–99 lb.
Does Contour charge for seat selection?
Its fare comparison lists no seat selection fee.
Can I book a Contour pet online and what does it cost?
No. Reserve by phone with Customer Experience in advance. From July 1, 2026, the non-refundable fee is USD 150 each way.
What carrier and seating rules apply to dogs or cats on Contour?
Maximum 24 × 16 × 10 inches, fitting under the seat and allowing natural standing, lying and turning. Exit-row seats are prohibited.
How many pet carriers does Contour accept and may pets leave them?
Three carriers per cabin, one per passenger. Pets must stay inside throughout.
What is needed for an infant occupying a seat on Contour?
Buy a ticket and bring a clearly FAA-approved child safety seat. Follow its installation label and fasten its harness during taxi, takeoff, landing and seatbelt-sign periods.
How long must an adult remain when dropping off an unaccompanied child with Contour?
Accompany the child through boarding and remain at the departure gate until takeoff. Another responsible adult must meet the child at the arrival gate.
Do partner connections booked through Contour’s website or app include baggage transfer?
Yes, with delay/cancellation protection. Partners are American, Alaska, JetBlue and United. This does not establish eligibility for separate tickets.
