Tibet Airlines FAQs

Find quick answers to the most common questions about flying with Tibet Airlines.

What is Tibet Airlines’ cabin baggage allowance?

Business Class allows two pieces and Economy one, each up to 7 kg and 20 × 40 × 55 cm including wheels and handles. You may also bring one small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag, that fits under the seat in front. Bags exceeding the piece, weight or size limit must be checked.

Can I take a stroller into the cabin on Tibet Airlines?

A passenger travelling with an infant may additionally bring one fully folding lightweight stroller into the cabin free of charge, provided its folded size including wheels and handles is no more than 20 × 40 × 55 cm and its weight no more than 7 kg. A larger or heavier stroller must be checked.

Does Tibet Airlines accept pet cats or dogs as cabin or checked baggage?

The current conditions do not accept small animals as either checked or cabin baggage, so ordinary pets cannot travel as passenger baggage. Eligible assistance dogs for passengers with disabilities are handled under separate service-dog requirements. An ordinary pet is not eligible simply by being described as a service dog.

How do I arrange an assistance dog on Tibet Airlines?

Apply at least 48 hours before scheduled departure and obtain approval. Provide valid animal quarantine, working-dog or training, vaccination, passenger identity and disability documents. In the cabin the dog must wear a muzzle and harness and cannot occupy a seat. The dog, container and food travel free outside the baggage allowance; one dog is accepted per flight. A passenger travelling alone with the dog must be at least 16.

Can I book a seat for a cello or other instrument on Tibet Airlines?

Apply when booking and pay the adult selling fare for the same cabin class as your own ticket; the instrument is outside the free baggage allowance. Baggage on each seat must not exceed 75 kg, and a seat-occupying instrument including its case must not exceed 140 × 50 × 40 cm. It must be secured as directed without obstructing evacuation or signs.

Can golf clubs or ski equipment travel in the cabin on Tibet Airlines?

No. Both a complete set and an individual item must be checked, and individual equipment must not be tied to a suitcase. Each passenger may check one properly packed set; inflatable equipment must be deflated. Its weight is combined with other checked bags against the applicable cabin allowance, with excess charged under the applicable baggage rules.

How should I prepare a bicycle for Tibet Airlines?

Only a single-seat, non-electric touring or racing bicycle may be checked. Deflate the tyres. On a non-folding bicycle, turn and secure the handlebars through 90 degrees and remove the pedals; remove and secure the wheels if necessary. Fold and secure a folding bicycle. Only one bicycle per passenger may count towards the free allowance; excess is charged as ordinary excess baggage.

What are the written claim deadlines for damaged or delayed baggage on Tibet Airlines?

Report discovered loss at baggage reclaim. A complaint concerning loss or damage must be made no later than seven days after receiving the checked bag; a delay complaint must be made no later than 21 days after the bag is delivered. Complaints must be in writing. Someone claiming on your behalf needs your signed authorisation.

What choices do I have if Tibet Airlines cancels my flight?

The conditions offer the earliest available Tibet Airlines scheduled flight without an additional charge, extending ticket validity where necessary. With your agreement, another mutually accepted mode of transport may take you to the ticketed destination. After cancellation you may instead choose an involuntary refund even if the original fare restricts refunds.

Who pays for meals and accommodation during a Tibet Airlines disruption?

At the origin, airline-caused delays or cancellations receive meals or accommodation under the airline’s rules. For weather, air traffic control, security, airport, passenger or other non-airline causes, the airline helps arrange them but the passenger pays. At an intermediate stop, a delay, cancellation or diversion receives meals or accommodation under the rules regardless of cause, subject to applicable local law.
