UTair FAQs

Find quick answers to the most common questions about flying with UTair.

What carry-on bag is included with Utair Minimum and Optimum fares?

Each includes one carry-on bag weighing up to 5 kg and measuring up to 40 × 30 × 20 cm, including handles, wheels and pockets. It must fit completely into the measuring frame without force. Premium and Business have an additional carry-on allowance.

How does checked baggage differ between Utair fare families?

The published table gives no free checked baggage for Minimum, one piece up to 20 kg for Optimum and Premium, and two pieces up to 30 kg each for Business. Each piece is limited to 203 cm in combined dimensions. Gold and Silver status benefits and joint-operation flight rules may differ; check the ticket as well.

Does an infant under two without a seat have a baggage allowance on Utair?

Yes. The published allowance is one carry-on bag up to 5 kg and 40 × 30 × 20 cm, regardless of service class. This provision does not add a free checked-bag allowance.

Can passengers travelling together pool checked-baggage weight on Utair?

Passengers travelling for the same purpose on the same flight to the same destination may request pooling of applicable checked-baggage weight, including purchased allowances when their fares include none. A pooled piece over 30 kg is charged under the heavy-baggage rules, and baggage must still be registered individually to passengers.

Is a folding stroller free for a child under 12 on Utair, and when must it be handed over?

One folding stroller per child under 12 is carried free in addition to the normal baggage allowance. Register it at check-in; it may be used up to the aircraft stairs before being handed over for hold carriage. Where airport conditions permit, it is returned at the stairs or jet bridge.

Which Utair fares include an additional ski-equipment allowance?

Optimum, Premium and Business include one of the listed sports-equipment sets, with a total weight up to 20 kg, in addition to the ticket allowance. A ski set may comprise a bag with one pair of skis and poles plus a bag with one pair of boots and a helmet. Check charges for other fares or equipment outside the listed definitions.

May I carry a laptop bag in addition to my normal Utair cabin allowance?

A laptop in a fitting sleeve or laptop bag no thicker than 10 cm may be carried free in addition to the normal allowance. Utair may inspect its contents. If it contains items other than the laptop and associated accessories such as a mouse, charger or notebook, normal cabin or checked-baggage rules apply.

What must I do before taking oversized or heavy baggage on Utair?

Obtain the airline’s agreement when booking and purchasing the ticket. The published general maximum is 50 kg for a single checked piece, except a wheelchair used by a passenger with a disability. Charges may still apply below 50 kg when the fare’s weight, size or piece allowance is exceeded.

Can I collect my checked bag if I lose the Utair baggage-tag stub?

Present evidence of your entitlement to the bag to the ground-handling staff. The published rules allow the handling agent to release it when ownership is established; losing the stub does not remove the need for verification.

Can I tape or wrap two separate bags together as one checked piece on Utair?

Normally no. Each checked piece needs its own packaging; separately packed items may not simply be combined with tape, stretch film or straps. The published exception is secure packaging using specialised equipment at the departure airport that prevents separation. The combined piece must still meet the fare allowance and the 203 cm combined-dimensions limit.
