How to travel around Bahamas by air

What to expect when flying between cities or connecting after an international arrival.

Flying between cities in Bahamas

  • Distinguish Bahamasair domestic advice from cutoff
For travel wholly within The Bahamas, Bahamasair recommends check-in at least two hours before departure; domestic counter and internet check-in close 60 minutes before departure. Confirm current arrangements for your flight and distinguish the recommendation from the cutoff.

Arriving from another country

  • Find the NAS airport lost-property service
Lynden Pindling airport provides a Find your lost property page and directs immediate assistance to the Airport Authority. Check the procedure for the lost item; a lost-property enquiry does not complete an airline checked-baggage claim.

Prepare cabin bags for safe stowage

Bahamasair’s guidance encourages limiting cabin baggage and sizing it for under-seat or enclosed-overhead stowage. Check current dimensions, weight and fare inclusions with the airline; this does not establish a universal free checked allowance.
